farm project

The Somaliweyn Relief Agency (SRA) Farm Project is a three-month community agriculture initiative that empowers vulnerable families through sustainable farming. The project provides practical training in modern agricultural techniques while enabling participants to grow nutritious crops such as maize, watermelon, and melons.

Implemented in two phases—from land preparation and planting to crop management, harvesting, and food sharing—the project helps improve food security, strengthen household livelihoods, and build long-term farming skills. Participants gain hands-on experience in soil preparation, irrigation, crop care, and sustainable farming practices that they can continue using beyond the project.

The harvest is shared among participating families, ensuring access to fresh, healthy food while promoting community cooperation and resilience. Through this initiative, Somaliweyn Relief Agency is investing in self-reliance, sustainable agriculture, and stronger, healthier communities.

The Somaliweyn Relief Agency (SRA) Henna  Project

The Somaliweyn Relief Agency Henna Art Project is a cultural and vocational training program offered every four months in Somalia. The project teaches participants the traditional art of henna while helping them develop creative skills, build self-confidence, and preserve an important part of Somali cultural heritage.

Through hands-on instruction, participants learn professional henna design techniques that can be used for weddings, celebrations, and community events. Beyond artistic expression, the program equips participants with practical skills that can create income-generating opportunities in the beauty industry, supporting economic independence and stronger livelihoods.

By combining culture, creativity, and skills development, the Henna Art Project empowers individuals to celebrate their heritage while building a brighter future.
